I got an invite earlier this week to join Bluesky. Bluesky for those of who aren’t in the know is yet another microblogging social network akin to Twitter. It’s annocement came right about the time when Twitter was having an exodus and is backed by former Twitter CEO of Twitter, Jack Dorsey.
I had joined the waitlist after learning about the new social netowrk, and got an invite earlier this week. The most obvious thing that I found in bluesky is the character limit which is 340 as opposed to the meager 140 that twitter provides. But the more thought that I give it, I am convinced that 140 makes much more sense for a micro blogging. But maybe that is a discussion for much longer post.
It has a simple early angular bootsrap-y UI and I don’t mean that in a negative way. The IOS UI is simple and clean. And very Twittery.
