I have upgraded to Ubuntu 23.10. I didn’t get the usual upgrade notification from Ubuntu software center.
I tried running # apt-get update && apt-get upgrade && do-release-upgrade
in attempt to force the upgrade but that didn’t work.
Running the following command opened the upgrade prompt for me.
# update-manager -d c
It’s been only few hours since I upgraded and I wouldn’t say the upgrade went too smooth as the upgrade got disrupted with compressed data is corrupt
in the linux kernel package. Running sudo apt-get clean
and then rerunning the upgrade worked.
Things I noticed and like about the upgrade
- Workspace indicator at the top left.
- Love the papercut minotaur wallpaper. It’s been a while since I customized my desktop. There was a time where I would obssess over wallpapers and spent a lot of time on the internet to fill my wallpaper collection. And this is the first time in a while that I have been excited about a wallpaper. I really love it. There could be features that I would discover over the course of the next few days but for now this wallpaper is the highlight of the release for me.
