Acreom

Acreom is yet another note taking app in the sea of productivity apps. What differentiates it from the rest is it is target towards developers. With default integration with github and Jira (for which you need to subscribe to the pro plan).

I currently like and use acreom for its my day(today) view. This view serves as a daily scratchpad where I dump thoughts, track tasks, and capture anything that comes up over the course of the day. It’s a single place where my day unfolds in writing.

I previously followed a very similar workflow in Emacs using org-mode1. However, the lack of a reliable cloud setup eventually pushed me away from it2. That limitation became especially painful when juggling between a work laptop and a personal machine, which ultimately led me to switch to Apple’s Notes app.

My simple workflow

Each morning, I start by listing my tasks for the day in the My Day view. As the day progresses, any information I come across—ideas, notes, links, or random thoughts—gets dumped into the same place without much ceremony.

At the end of the day, I do a quick cleanup. Anything that feels worth keeping in a long-term system gets moved to its appropriate home, and any unfinished tasks are carried over to the next day. What remains are simply the scraps of the day—ephemeral by design, but still there if I ever need to look back.
