Falling for marketing - Yet again
My Instagram feed was flooded with ads about how RYZE coffee is amazing. It claims to clear brain fog, reduce fat caused by high cortisol levels, and so on. It’s made with seven types of mushrooms that are supposedly known to help with these issues.
But what really pushed me over the fence was the claim that it tastes great.
At this point, that shouldn’t have been the hook — yet it was. As someone who genuinely enjoys coffee, that promise worked on me. For a long time, the coffee was only available through their website. But once it hit the shelves at Target, it got to me, and I decided to give it a shot.
While I can’t speak to the benefits — since I only purchased the 10-pack — the taste was nowhere near what I expected. I tried the default version, though I’ve since noticed there are a couple more options, like Vanilla and different roast choices (medium and dark).
I couldn’t just pour the sachet into milk and drink it1. Not wanting my money to go to waste, I ended up mixing my regular coffee decoction with RYZE — and it didn’t taste that bad.
It goes without saying that YMMV but that has been my experience.
I don’t put sugar in my coffee.↩︎
