I have a problem with my interests/hobbies. None of them seem to be cheap. They start cheap but as you go down the rabbit hole it leaves a huge dent on the bank account.

After somehwat exiting the mechanical keyboard scene I have found myself dabbling into another niche world - IEMS.

Luckily my deficit is only $30 on moondrop’s chu II so far. I am already eyeying a move up to the Aful explorer.

And this is how it always starts.

At first, its just curiosity. > I wonder what a more expensive pair sounds like? Before you konw it, you are watching comparison videos, learning words you didn’t know before - terms like soundstage, imaging, tuning, detail retrieval, sound signature, whatever other vocabulary is required to convince yourself that you can definitely hear the difference.

The dangerous part is every step, every upgrade seems within reach and reasonable.

From the Chu II cheap -> Aful explorer expensive but the reviews and opinions convince you that it would be worth the upgrade.

As so the endless upgrade begins - what does the upgrade from this look like/cost?

I know exactly how this story goes - and how it ends.
