I was perhaps too optimistic about Apple’s first foldable, and the reviews have left me disappointed.
It suffers from the same app optimization issues that kept me from trying foldables on Android. Given that it’s Apple and that there’s only one foldable in its lineup, I thought Apple would have partnered with developers[^1] to ensure that the users smooth experience. [^1]: Atleast the major ones.
Adding to that, “Foldgate” is trending on my Reddit app, despite me not even being subscribed to the AppleDuo subreddit. To Apple’s credit, it seems that those affected have been able to get their devices replaced on the spot at Apple Stores, despite reports of stores having no Duo units available for sale.
I guess my wait to enter the world of smartphone foldables continues.
