Through real-life examples, it illustrates how harnessing the power of the subconscious mind can elevate our lives toward success and prosperity.

5AM club by Robin Sharma

I am a Robin Sharma fan because one the first books I read in the non-fiction was The monk who sold his ferrari by this author, which also became my gateway drug to enjoying non-fiction and self help category.

This had been a book I wanted to read for a long time now. Started reading in the christmas holidays and completed at the start of the new year.

5AM club is a book that is pretty much packed with gems. Through the voice of Riley stone who onboards 2 people into the club. He walks through various steps on how to utilize the golden hour to attain world class levels. The book touches on a lot of aspects which is especially in the digital world we live in.

The principles of the 5AM Club are something I’ll need to revisit again and again to fully absorb and integrate into my life.

The pain of contuining the weekly post count

I didn’t initially think through how this seemingly trivial decision would impact my Python script, which I use to generate the weekly blog post files along with boilerplate code for the front matter.

Over engineering a simple problem?

  • Have a file that has the weekly post count and the week number a.k.a storing the state.

Each week as I run the script update the weekly text file to update the weekly post number created and week number when I created the post. As I run it again, if the week number is the same as current I don’t update the file.

  • Get list of weekly posts and increment the counter based on the last file number.

This might not work because then if I accidentally run the script twice then there is a possibility that I would have created multiple weekly posts and if I am not keeping count then I wouldn’t really know if I should be writing weekly post 54 or 55. The work around to this is to perhaps use a cron job to avoid accidentally creating multiple weekly post file.
