Ridge Wallet: A Circle of Simplicity

Life seems to come in circles, doesn’t it? I know, I’m starting to sound old and philosophical, but bear with me for a moment.

Now, what’s the connection between the Ridge wallet and life coming full circle, you ask?

We’ve come full circle in a way, undoing decades of craftsmanship in wallet making just to return to simplicity. Growing up in India, one of my favorite pastimes was shopping with my parents and admiring all the different wallets—each with its unique design, compartments, and folds. I’d dream about how cool it would be to flip open a wallet like that, with a satisfying snap of the leather.

If my parents had suggested I wrap my money or cards (I didn’t even have any back then, humor me) in a rubber band, I probably would’ve staged a protest. Yet, here I am, decades later, spending $100 on a fancy rubber band to replace my bulky trifold wallet.

Apologies for the philosophical detour!

As you’ve probably guessed, I made the leap from a traditional wallet to the Ridge wallet. The green color caught my eye first, though I originally had my heart set on blue (either sky or mountain blue), but both were out of stock. So, I settled on the green—and it’s been a great choice.

The Ridge wallet definitely lives up to its reputation, but there’s something oddly amusing about it. At its core, it’s just a stylish rubber band that holds together my cards and cash. A month in, and the elasticity is still going strong. I opted for the cash strap instead of the money clip, though I have to admit, the experience with the strap leaves something to be desired. Stashing bills behind it doesn’t feel as fluid as I imagined, and now I’m curious about trying the money clip for a smoother experience.

The leader who had no title - Robin Sharma 5/5

I am on a quest to complete reading Robin Sharma’s series of books, and The Leader Who Had No Title has been just as delightful to read as the others I’ve completed so far.

There are many profound thoughts and valuable tips to emulate in life in order to lead a fulfilling existence.

What I like about this one in particular is - at the end of each chapter the key insight of the chapter is summarized. Which is helpful for when I need to revisit to internalize them as part of the day to day ritual.
