Trying TickTick
Since I moved to the Apple ecosystem, I’ve primarily relied on the default Apple apps due to their tight integration. However, I’m starting to feel the frustration of being in the walled garden, one reason being that I can’t use Reminders on my office laptop. This means I have to maintain two separate iCloud accounts and share my lists across them to view all my tasks (personal and work).
One of the main appeals of TickTick is its calendar integration1, which eliminates the need to sign into my work Google account on my personal device. For privacy reasons, I don’t want my work account signed into any of my personal devices, and TickTick provides a good level of comfort in that regard.
TickTick also serves as a personal planner, offering the ability to add notes for the day and mark tasks as “Won’t Do,” which I consider equivalent to “Not Done.” This is particularly helpful for me in terms of planning because I can easily see which tasks I set for the day, which ones I completed, and which ones I didn’t get to.
Best of all, the premium feature isn’t expensive: $36/year which to me is pretty reasonable as it provides most of the things I am currently looking for in a planner system.
Edit 03/02: This didn’t last long I am back to reminders
