Atreus keyboard

I thought I was done with mechanical keyboards until I accidentally saw the Atreus Keyboard.

An ergonomic 44 keys keyboard. Unlike the planck it is taking a long time for me to get used to this keyboard and within the first few days of using it I already decided on letting it go 1 . The reason being that I am experiencing discomfort in my hands, contrary to what an ergonomic keyboard should feel like. One possible reason for that could be that the layout is completely different and shift, backspace either need to be changed to better suite my fingers or I adapt to the default. I might need to spend some time to figure out what layout I want to put on it or lazily just go with my planck layout. Since I got it from mechmarket I got it with L&F Alpaca linear switches, but none of the pictures match to the switch it has so for now it is a linear switch which feels buttery smooth2. Compared to the planck despite being the same size, I feel my fingers are stretching more on atreus than on the planck. Could be that I also need to get used to layout.

The verdict on this keyboard should be out in next week’s post hopefully. And if Atreus doesn’t workout for me then pretty sure that is the end of the road with mechanical keyboard.

Through the lens

Atreus keyboard

  1. I might if I am unable to adapt to it.↩︎

  2. Also causing issues for me to accidentally register keypresses from unintended keys.↩︎
