Things I have embraced moving to US

Moving to a new country brings all sorts of changes—some exciting, some weird, and some you never thought you’d care about. One such thing is:

Checking the weather, growing up in the southern part of India checking weather wasnt much of a thing. Because it would be hot and humid with varying degrees for most of the year. The concept of seasons didnt ruboff on me.To make matters worse, whenever the weather forecast did predict something severe, the actual day would turn out to be the complete opposite—making weather forecasts seem hardly reliable.

However, after repeatedly being caught off guard (freezing in a sudden drop, drenched in an unexpected shower, or baking under the sun) for not checking the weather of the place I (or we) was(were) heading to, I’ve now made it a habit to check the forecast before planning any trip.

Another reason—albeit a more recent one—has been gardening. I’ve found myself in situations where I watered the plants, only to find out it was going to rain later that day. My efforts ended up being pointless and led to higher water bills. Lesson learned!
