Back to spotify

Spotify recently updated their free tier which now made me a Spotify faithful for music consumption. With this update you can now play any song without premium subscription. Previously when searching for a song you could only play the playlist it was part of and eventually the song you searched for would play.

I moved away from Spotify to Youtube for my music consumption for the sole purpose of listening to a song when I wanted as opposed to waiting for the algorithm to decide when it would play the song I searched for.

Although this change also brings us longer and more ads, but I am fine with it¹.

Another advantage of spotify is the ability to play the music in background, which allowed switching between apps without interuptions to my listenting experience. It was the biggest annoyance I was enduring with Youtube due to the lack of an alternative.
